National Football League Matchup: Vikings Take On Browns at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in Week Five Action
Important Safety Josh Metellus Expresses Perspectives on Special UK Environment
Selected in the 2020 NFL Draft, Josh Metellus is gearing up to participate in his fourth international match, even though the Vikings were defeated in Dublin previously. In the past, they secured victories in each of their previous appearances to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The athlete emphasized, "We must keep that streak going," mentioning his eagerness for another UK game.
"Ordinarily, during matches, the fans wear matching team shirts, but en route to the venue at Tottenham, I saw around thirty-two different kits—I noticed every team," explained the 27-year-old safety.
"I thought 'wow, I assumed it was a Minnesota event.' But that was amazing to see, fans just enjoy NFL. I noticed a group of diverse fans of every type, who appreciated the game and the events preceding it. You don't necessarily have to have a team, you know. It's just watching the game and falling in love with it."
When asked if that made for a distinct vibe: "Definitely. The people in London do a great job of creating excitement. The team that shows the highest effort can gain an advantage and energize the fans, so yeah, it definitely makes a unique experience. It's similar to a collegiate championship. It's a neutral site where it could go either way, depending on game dynamics and such elements."
"I really like the venue," he stated. "It appears as a ideal location to perform overseas. The locker room's superb, the feel of it when you walk inside, it appears that the eyes are on you. I'm a great enthusiast of playing in arenas that are comfortable, especially the ones that we triumph at!"
